Veterans' Walk

Veterans' Walk

Former Board member Chuck Macaluso presented the Veterans' Walk concept to Chapter 20's Board of Directors in early 2000 to honor all veterans for their service to our country. The location of the paver stone walkway is from the parking lot at 1440 South Avenue to the entrance of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Highland Park. After receiving approval from the Vietnam Veterans Memorial of Greater Rochester, the Parks Department, and the Monroe County Legislature the project was started in June 2004.

Dedication of the Veterans' Walk was held on Saturday August 14, 2004. Anyone purchasing a "brick" is required to provide proof of the veteran's service. Current military personnel are also eligible to be recognized for their service. Accepted items are a Discharge Certificate, Separation Form, DD214, VA Card, SF- 180, pictures of service person in uniform, military ID card, or verification by an accredited Veteran's Service Representative.

Applications for the paver bricks can be downloaded from this website. Completed forms with a check or money order in the amount of $50.00 should be sent to P.O. Box 12580, Rochester, NY 14612.
