The Chapter Awards Committee serves to
facilitate the recognition of those in the chapter, community
and state who support and promote the ideals of the Chapter. In
1986, the first Veterans Service Award and Community Service
Award were given. At this time, there are 3 annual awards
bestowed by this committee:
The Roger Robach Award
Roger Robach was a New York State Assemblyman
who was also a husband, father, and a veteran of his country's
armed forces. During his terms as an elected NY State
Assemblyman, he fought hard and long to see to it that veterans
of all eras received their due from New York State. The veterans
of Monroe County and all of NY State had no greater proponent
that Roger in the State Legislature. This award was created in
his memory and to honor all those who follow after him.
Community Service Award
The Community Service Award recognizes a
group, organization or individual who has demonstrated a strong
sense of community service and who favorably recognizes and
relates to Vietnam Veterans' issues.
Veterans' Service Award
The Veterans' Service Award recognizes an
individual who has demonstrated outstanding dedication in
improving the condition of Vietnam Veterans and/or the
community. There may be up to 3 Veterans' Service Awards
presented annually.
The Chapter Awards Committee includes the
current Chapter Secretary who acts as Chairperson and four other
members chosen by the Secretary, to include 3 past award
recipients and 1 non-recipient Chapter member. Awards are
presented at the Annual Dinner held in the Spring of each year.
